Sorry
Adjective:
“A feeling regret or penitence”
Potentially the most misused word in the English language.
We are never taught how to know when it is used correctly, truthfully and with wholehearted compassion.
When it is not being used as a tool of control to prevent the continuation of the givers discomfort.
In reality, we will never know.
We will never honestly be Able to tell when someone really mean the apology that seeps from their lips like a forgotten promise. We simply have to trust them.
The real question is, is the damage they caused deeper than a simple apology is able to fix.
How are you able to tell when you are reaching the breaking point of the extension of yourself that takes the form of your trust in another human being: one as equally, if not more flawed than yourself?
